The Festival of Words, held over the second weekend in September presents a program to engage book lovers of all ages and tastes. These include up-close sessions with visiting authors, often held in historic venues allowing interaction between the writers and their audience.
A highlight of the festival is the massive second-hand book sale from local, regional and Melbourne book-sellers.

The Spring Music Festival is Victoria’s premier regional festival in the area of Classical and Contemporary ensemble music. Australian and overseas artists perform a variety of programs utilising many of the small and intimate venues around Port Fairy. In addition to works by great composers, the program may include music theatre, opera, jazz, and dance.

As Queenslanders we enjoyed the novelty of sitting in front of an open fire … sampling a few reds before snuggling up beneath crisp sheets and beautifully made quilts. We really loved the cottage garden where many happy hours were spent reading , relaxing and enjoying the sunny weather and abundant birdlife.
